TSA is incredibly fortunate to have a diverse team comprised of many capable and talented women, and on this International Women’s Day we are taking the opportunity to recognise their (significant!) contributions and celebrate their (many!) achievements, with events taking place across all of our sites.

I don’t want to fall into the trap of sounding too ‘corporate’ when talking about how important women are to our success. Inevitably there will be many thousands of messages being sent out by business leaders right around the world today, championing the role of women in business. The truth is, none of that matters unless real and tangible effort is made to adapt our workplaces to support women’s full participation, and promote them to leadership positions of influence.

That’s one of the best things about the TSA story. We’re a business that has always welcomed and supported talented women leaders, and on days like International Women’s Day, we don’t have to try and spin a story or try and make our numbers look better than they are. So, here are the facts:

  •  Our Senior Managers are now 55.6% women, up 8.7% from last year
  •  The majority of our managerial promotions (60%) went to women over the last year
  • We are fast approaching gender parity at other levels of our business, with our middle-level management at 42.7% women, and our non-management team members 45.6% women

While these numbers aren’t perfect, and there’s still work to be done, the great news is that these outcomes were achieved organically within our business, without the needed for mandated quotas – we #BalanceForBetter because we know it delivers the best outcomes for our team members, our clients and customers.

I’m proud to lead a business which has always embraced diversity and inclusion as a natural part of what we do. We continue to welcome people from all walks of life, without prejudice to their educational background, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality or prior work experience. This richness of life experience amongst our team is the foundation which powers our creative approach to delivering customer first outcomes for our clients, and it keeps us honest and accountable to our One TSA team culture: it’s the TSA Way.
